Samuel D
Harris National Museum of Dentistry
If you are ever in
the Baltimore, MD area, it is suggested that you visit the Samuel D Harris
National Museum of Dentistry. You can see the famous dentures that George
Washington wore, which by the way, were made of hippopotamus bone and human
teeth, NOT wood as legend has has told. The gilded dental instruments
belonging to queen Victoria can also be found here. Those with a musical
interest can listen to jingles from vintage dental commercials. While
combing through the curious instruments, one can find a new exhibit entitled,
"Saliva: A Remarkable Fluid," all dedicated to your spit. The
Samuel D Harris Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute which
incorporates interactive learning experiences for all those who visit.
